BURTON’S MP has revealed that 150 jobs have already been put up for grabs as part of his bid to try and cut unemployment in the town.

Andrew Griffiths told the Mail that world renowned clothing brand Superdry, who are moving into a warehouse on Wellington Road in the near future, have thrown its backing behind the jobs fair by offering up 30 jobs.

Mr Griffiths said that he is being ‘inundated’ by businesses, large and small, who want to be apart of his third annual event.

He said: “I am so pleased to announce that already firms have pledged to advertise 150 jobs at the fair.

“SuperGroup, who are behind the brand Superdry and who are set to move into The Duke warehouse in the town, are offering up a minimum of 30 jobs.

“Momentum Recruitment, from Marchington, will be offering 40 welding and engineering jobs and Burton’s Solar Sun Power UK have 30 jobs in the renewable energy sector.

“I am really excited that so many businesses have come forward to back the jobs fair.

“What is really good is that there are such a range of roles on offer for all sorts of people with different skills.

“I am hopeful that this variation will attract a whole host of people from all walks of life to the fair.

“Seeing big and small firms get behind an event this is great and is brilliant backing to business in Burton.”

The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, September 13 at the Pirelli Stadium.

Any businesses interested in taking part in the event should call the MP’s London office on 02072 197029 or email andrew.griffiths.mp@parliament.uk
