Burton and Uttoxeter’s MP welcomes more money for our schools

Burton and Uttoxeter’s MP welcomes more money for our schools

Last week, the Education Secretary, Justine Greening MP, announced that the schools budget will receive a boost of £2.6 billion by 2019/20. This is the biggest increase in the schools budget for well over a decade and will mean that each school will receive a cash increase in their funding.

Andrew said, “As an area that has historically received less school funding than other areas in the country, I have long been campaigning for more money for our local schools, and at last we should be in line for a big increase.”

“This is great news for children, parents and teachers in Burton and Uttoxeter, as well as across the country. This extra cash will help to continue to raise standards and do more to give every child the best possible opportunities in life.”
