Burton MP, Andrew Griffiths, has wasted no time in promoting the interests of Burton’s brewers. Just eight weeks after the election, Andrew has lined up the Burton Bridge Brewery to supply Members’ Bar at the House of Commons, MP’s favourite watering hole, with their Golden Delicious beer.
Andrew welcomed Bruce Wilkinson and Geoff Mumford, who founded the Burton Bridge Brewery in 1981, to the House of Commons to mark the occasion, inviting other Staffordshire MPs to the pulling of the first pint.
Bruce Wilkinson said,
“Geoff and I were very pleased to see Andrew’s commitment to promoting English beers and standing up for English brewers demonstrated by getting our beer on sale in the House of Commons and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.”
“Burton is the brewing capital of the country. I wanted to make sure every MP had the chance to experience what a really good pint of beer tastes like. Over the next few weeks, MPs from John O’Groats to Lands End will have the chance to sample Burton’s finest.
“It is of course important that the problems faced by brewers of all sizes are heard at the highest levels of Government and that is one of my priorities as the MP for Burton. When I stood for election, I said I would stand up for Burton’s brewing industry and promoting local brewers and local beers is part of commitment”.
