Andrew Griffiths attended the annual ‘Celebrate British Beer’ awards in Parliament reception last week which celebrated the achievements of the nation’s brewing industry and beer retailers. Alongside Andrew and the new All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group (APPBG) Chairman, Graham Evans MP was big retailers including Marks & Spencers as well as small independent beer shops.
The awards are jointly organised each year by the APPBG as well as Off Licence News magazine, and bring together expert judges to find the top beer retailers from among the hundreds of nominations. Mr Griffiths was pleased to see at the ceremony the West Midlands had its own regional winner which this year went to Favourite Beers in Cheltenham.
Speaking after the event Mr Griffiths said: “It was great to show my support to our nation’s brilliant beer retailers and present awards to some of the best in the country. While we must continue to back pubs and their success we should also recognise the contribution that retailers give to the beer trade which support many jobs within the industry here locally in Burton”.
