Burton’s MP Andrew Griffiths has praised Sarah Minns and Dr Jyoti Shah from the urology department at Queen’s Hospital in Burton, following the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards.
The pair were nominated by Andrew for the Excellence in Cancer Care Award at the NHS70 Awards, which were held in Parliament to celebrate the brilliant work of NHS staff across England. The awards were held to coincide with the NHS’s 70th birthday on 5th July.
Sarah and Jyoti had already won the West Midlands Excellence in Cancer Care award, and in the end finished in the top four in the whole country.
Andrew said: “It was wonderful to see Jyoti and Sarah at the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards, and to celebrate the brilliant work they do. I am really proud that the work being done on prostate cancer at Queen’s Hospital in Burton is being recognised nationally.
“Jyoti and Sarah have saved the lives of so many men by making sure that men come for their prostate check and diagnosing them early. Huge congratulations to both of them – it really is deserved!”
