Burton’s MP takes part in a parliamentary bill committee

Burton’s MP takes part in a parliamentary bill committee

Over the last couple of weeks in Parliament Burton’s MP, Andrew Griffiths has been working with other MPs of all political parties to review a bill currently going though Parliament. The Criminal Finances Bill will apply to people with significant assets but are unable to prove how they earned them.

Speaking about the Bill, Mr Griffiths said:

“When I first started working on this bill I was surprised that an individual was able to live in a large house, have a sports car on the drive, but have no job on record and not be expected to explain how they got them.  I am pleased to say after many hours of scrutinising every line in the bill and going through a significant amount of post-it notes this Bill will now progress to the next stage. “
