Andrew with the 3,725 signature petition to keep Elizabeth Court open

Andrew has been working hard to support the elderly residents of the Elizabeth Court sheltered housing complex in Winshill.

The home’s owner, the Anchor Trust, has announced that it intends to close Elizabeth Court. Elizabeth Court offers a really important facility to its residents, some of whom are in their 90s. The proposed closure has caused a lot of distress to the residents and their families, who deserve to be treated a lot better than this.

Andrew is supporting the campaign to keep it open and presented the Burton Mail’s 3,725 signature petition to the Chief Executive of the Anchor Trust. He has been working with residents and their families to get answers to the questions they have sent to the Anchor Trust and to support them during this worrying time.

Andrew has met with the Anchor Trust and with the Chief Executive of Trent & Dove Housing to try to find ways of keeping the home open.
