The Midlands’ biggest Jobs Fair is set to take place in Burton when local MP Andrew Griffiths hosts his annual event at the Pirelli Stadium in October.
This is the fifth time that the local MP has organised the jobs event, which brings together local employers and jobseekers in order to fill vacancies and get people into work.
Mr Griffiths said: “I’ve had a large number of companies contacting me asking me if I will again host my Jobs Fair and I am delighted that this year’s event will be taking place on 2nd October.”
The event is run in conjunction with Burton Jobcentre Plus and Burton and District Chamber of Commerce. Previous events have seen in excess of 50 companies take stands at the Pirelli Stadium, with up to 2,000 people attending on the day.
Mr Griffiths added: “I’m really pleased to have the support of Jobcentre Plus and the Chamber. Unemployment has fallen by two thirds locally, and the challenge now is to get those people not yet in work into a job, and also to help local businesses fill their skills needs.”
The event is free and any business wanting to take a stand should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01283 564934. It will take place between 10am and 3pm on 2nd October at the Pirelli Stadium.
