Yesterday Andrew Griffiths MP had the pleasure of welcoming Ann, Anne, Carol, Glenda, and Margaret from local branches of Golden Oldies to Parliament. Golden Oldies is a countrywide organisation that gives the opportunity for older people who may be socially isolated as well as people with dementia to come together as a group for singing and chat.
Speaking after the event Andrew said, “Singing has been shown to be really effective in helping those with dementia recall memories and times gone by with loved ones. Anne and her team do excellent work across East Staffordshire supporting old people so it was great to welcome her and some of her group to Westminster to sing in Parliament. “
