BURTON MP Andrew Griffiths has found his way into the top 10 of an annual list of pub industry power players.
Mr Griffiths, who successfully campaigned for the scrapping of the beer duty escalator earlier this year, rose to 7th in The Publican’s Morning Advertiser list.
Mr Griffiths, who is chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group at Westminster, told the Mail: “I am really pleased that my efforts and hard work on behalf of the beer and pub industry have been recognised by the industry itself.
“It has been a fantastic year for me, culminating with the scrapping of the beer escalator after a long and hard fought campaign.
“I am chuffed that as the MP for the home of brewing and the pub industry I am being able to exert influence for the good of the industry and jobs in Burton.”
The list was topped by the chairman of pub chain JD Wetherspoon, Tim Martin.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Burton-based Punch Taverns Stephen Bilingham came third and chief executive of Spirit Mike Tye came 11th.
Marstons chief executive Ralph Findlay came 6th.
