AN MP has called on Burton schools to take part in My Money Week next week.
The scheme will run from Monday until Sunday, June 9 and will give pupils the chance to learn more about money and personal finance.
Every primary and secondary school in East Staffordshire is being given the chance to take part for free in the scheme.
Burton MP Andrew Griffiths said “My Money Week is a fantastic initiative and I would encourage all our local schools to get involved.
“Children are never too young to learn about the value of money and personal finance – otherwise it is a lesson you have to learn very quickly as you get older.
“Equipping children with the knowledge they need to manage their own money is such a valuable lesson and I am sure many parents would appreciate their children having some appreciation of the money in their pocket.”
