Burton MP Andrew Griffiths has congratulated Burton curry house Jee Ja Jee’s for receiving the most nominations as best South Asian restaurant in the constituency.
The result takes the restaurant through to the next round of the prestigious Tiffin Cup to find the best South Asian food in Britain. Jee Ja Jees’s will be vying against other South Asian restaurants for a place in the Grand Final hosted in the Houses of Parliament where entrants from each constituency go head-to-head in their efforts to win the coveted Tiffin Cup title.
“I am a self-proclaimed curry-holic and I think the people of Burton and Uttoxeter have chosen well in nominating Jee Ja Jee’s to fly the flag for the constituency. Having sampled their splendid curry myself, I am sure we stand a good chance of bringing the Tiffin Cup here to Burton and making the town Britain’s ‘Capital of Curry’”.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the Tiffin Club of MPs. The aim is to not only applaud the quality of South Asian Food in Britain but also raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of ‘World Vision’.
Mr Seyid Ahmet Orta, owner of Jee Ja Jee’s restaurant, said:
“I am delighted to go through to the next round of the Tiffin Cup. We have always strived to serve the very finest authentic Indian dishes created for individual taste. Furthermore, we believe in great customer care and satisfaction and good value for money. Our team are dedicated in ensuring a great atmosphere that adds another flavour to a wonderful eating experience. Jee Ja Jee’s is proud to have gained recognition in being nominated through to the next round of the Tiffin Cup. We’ll work hard now to bring the Cup to Burton!”
