MP hauled over hot coals

Wednesday 4th May 2011 (Andrew Griffiths)
MP hauled over hot coals

Burton’s MP Andrew Griffiths is taking part in this Saturday’s Firewalk at Burton Albion to raise money for the Queen’s Hospital Scanner Appeal. Along with other brave volunteers, he will be walking 20 feet over hot coals at a sizzling temperature of 550 degrees Celsius.

Andrew said: “I’m not sure how I got roped into this, but taking part in the Firewalk is a unique challenge and a great opportunity to raise money for the much needed scanner at Queen’s Hospital. I’m hoping to get as many sponsors as I can and to raise as much money as I can as I put my best foot forward for the Scanner Appeal.

“I’m sure that lots of people will be looking forward to seeing their Member of Parliament hauled over the coals.”
