BURTON’S MP Andrew Griffiths has reminded local musicians to get their entries in for the Rock the House competition.
Rock The House is Parliament’s largest competition and gives bands and solo artists a chance to persuade their MP to nominate them to have their music judged by industry executives.
Winners are given the opportunity to perform at a prestigious event in Parliament as well as other prizes including recording sessions, radio airplay, festival slots and more.
The closing date for bands to nominate themselves for the competition is March 31.
It is then down to Mr Griffiths to pick the local winners from the various categories to go forward to the national competition.
He said: “Don’t forget to get nominating in the last few days before the competition closes.
“We have already had some nominations in but I want to encourage as many local musicians as possible to put themselves forward for what is the most exciting competition in Parliament.”
