MP welcomes figures showing crime in Staffordshire is falling

Burton’s MP Andrew Griffiths has welcomed news that crime is falling. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime in Staffordshire has fallen by 19%.

Andrew said: “I want Burton to be a safer place for everyone who lives here. Thanks to the Government’s action plan to tackle crime and the hard work of police officers, crime is down by almost a fifth in Staffordshire.

“This is great news for local people and local businesses. My thanks go to all the officers who work so hard to keep us safe.”

Statistics released as part of the independent Crime Survey for England and Wales have shown this fall in crime and revealed that there were 2.4million fewer crimes this year than in the year before this Government came to power.
