New MP praises Burton’s sea cadets

Burton’s new MP has praised the hard work and dedication of Burton’s sea cadets. Andrew Griffiths met youngsters from the organisation at Rolleston. Mr Griffiths took part in the ceremony of raising the Union flag with cadets between the ages of 10 and 18.

Mr Griffiths said: “The Sea Cadets is a wonderful organisation and they play a vital role in our community in Burton. These are young men and women we can rightfully be proud of, I applaud them.”

Mr Griffiths pledged to work with the Sea Cadets to raise the profile of the organisation. He said: “I think many young people can benefit from the friendship, discipline and sense of belonging the Sea Cadets instil in its members. I want to do all I can to raise the profile of this brilliant body and I would encourage any young person to join up and take part.”
