Victory in the Power Station Campaign
Burton residents approached Andrew, worried about a plan to build a power station in the wrong place for Burton. The homes and health of local families were threatened by the power station being built in the wrong place, and Andrew took up their fight. Everyone agrees that Andrew's energetic campaign defeated the plans, leaving the land available to provide even more jobs.

Save Our Post Offices
When 5 local post offices were threatened with closure, Andrew led a vigorous battle to oppose them. He collected more than 7000 signatures for a petition to Gordon Brown in Downing Street. Andrew has proved he will defend our vital public services.

Promoting Our Local Economy
Andrew has fought local job losses and brought key decision makers to the town. For example, the brewing industry is vital to the future of Burton Andrew has been working to protect vital jobs in the beer trade.

Burton and Uttoxeter is suffering as a result of this recession. Firms have been closing and local families' homes are at risk. Thousands of redundancies have been announced at high profile firms such as JCB, Punch, Toyota and many other local businesses. Unemployment locally has trebled in just over 2 years.
We face a difficult future and tough decisions need to be made to ensure a better future. Andrew has the experience, understanding and energy to address the issues that are facing Burton and Uttoxeter are facing, making them a better place to live.
